Dotemu is bringing back a classic Nintendo DS game, partnering with Capybara Games to releaseMight & Magic: Clash of Heroes Definitive Edition. It’s been over 13 years sinceMight & Magic: Clash of Heroeswas first released onNintendo DS. The puzzle RPG quickly became popular among fans of the genre, despite the game bearing little resemblance to pastMight & Magicgame releases. Now a new generation of puzzle game fans can experienceMight & Magic: Clash of Heroes.
As its name implies,Might & Magic: Clash of Heroestakes place within thepopular UbisoftMight & Magicfranchise. It’s story even serves as a prequel toHeroes of Might and Magic 5. Players take on the roles of five different protagonists, each leading a separate faction of units, including knights, demons, elves, wizards, and necromancers. Players will match groups of units together on their “battlefield,” attacking foes lined up across from them in turn-based combat.

The Definitive Edition ofMight & Magic: Clash of Heroeswill update the classic puzzle RPG for modern platforms, enhancing and improving the game while also delivering the authentic original experience. Dotemu will releaseMight & Magic: Clash of Heroes Definitive Editionon PC, PS4, and Switch. A release window has been set for theincreasingly packed summer 2023.
Changes planned for the Definitive Edition ofMight & Magic: Clash of Heroesstart with “refreshed” character art and portraits, to ensure the game’s visually polished for modern consoles. A variety of additional, but nonspecific, quality-of-life changes have also been made to ensure the game meets modern audience expectations. Lastly, and perhaps most intriguingly, Dotemu is completely rebalancingMight & Magic: Clash of Heroes' multiplayer.
This isn’t the first time thatMight & Magic: Clash of Heroeshas been re-released, of course. It was also remade and released for PS3 and Xbox 360 in 2011, which explains why the game has high resolution assets in the first place. ThePS3 and Xbox 360 releasesalso received a substantial balance update, which Dotemu’s new Definitive Edition will be building off of.
Before any fans ofMight & Magic: Clash of Heroesstart to worry, Dotemu has also confirmed it will be a proper Definitive Edition and will include the game’s DLC. The I Am the Boss DLC, which lets players play as Azexez, Count Carlyle, Ludmilla, and Azh-Rafir, is included. There will also be an all-new Multiplayer boss, Euny the Archdruid, added.Might & Magic: Clash of HeroesandNintendo DS puzzle game fanswill hopefully be pleased with Dotemu’s work.
