It’s taken more than a year, but the latest patch forCyberpunk 2077has finally managed to make it more playable, with fans now willing to give the game a second chance. It may have hadone of the most disastrous launches in recent video game history, but it’s on its way to being the end result that the developer initially intended. Yes, it’s not perfect and still needs a lot of work to be done, but at least progress is being made. That aside, the game itself is pretty spectacular, so it’s not surprising that it inspires some incredible works of art.
In a recent post on theCyberpunk 2077Subreddit, user deckard977 has shown off their immense talent for fan art, with a time-lapse video that shows them illustrating a highly detailed, and overall amazing, facsimile of Jackie Welles. The video, which lasts just shy of four and a half minutes, shows a sped-up version of their work, starting with the drawing itself, before the color, shadows, and other details are added in. It goes to show just how much talent is out there in the gaming community.

For those who haven’t played the game,Jackie Welles is an earlyCyberpunk2077character, who is essentially the protagonist, V’s, best friend. Without spoiling any of the plot, Welles quickly became one of the most memorable NPCs in the story, and, along with Keanu Reeves' significant role, was a pretty large part of the marketing before the game was released. Welles' voice actor said last year that they would be interested in returning in any future DLC.
While the overall world itself is pretty stunning, it’s the characters that make up the heart of the story, and it’s not the first time someone has created fan art for the game. AnotherCyberpunk 2077player did an incredible painting of Judy Alvarez, another important character who becomes a large part of V’s life.
As for the game itself,CD Projekt Red released the enormous patch 1.5last month, which overhauled an absolute laundry list of issues that had been plaguing the title since launching in December 2020. It has definitely made a lot of changes and improvements, which were causing outrage as it became evident that the studio was being forced to rush the game out well before completion. As time moves on, more updates will likely be rolling out, but, as mentioned above, there’s still a way to go yet.
