Call of Duty: Warzone’s latest update makes some important changes to the battle royale, but it may just be setting the stage for even bigger things to come. Dataminers have started poring through theCall of Duty: Warzoneupdate files, and they have discovered evidence that the bunkers on theWarzonebattle royale map may finally be opening soon.
In thelatestCall of Duty: Warzoneupdatedataminers have found sound files related to the bunker doors opening, in addition to three levels of access cards. They have also discovered the actual animation for the bunker doors opening, which suggests that it could be implemented in the game sooner rather than later. Fans will note that red access cards are already on theWarzonemap, so perhaps the next two access cards will be released in upcoming updates.

Presumably,Call of Duty: Warzoneplayers will need to use these access cards to open the bunker doors on theWarzonemap. However, that’s just speculation at this time and it’s possible that opening the bunker doors will be done using a completely different method. Until Infinity Ward makes opening theWarzonebunker doors possible, all fans can do is speculate based on the datamined information.
It’s also unclear what’s inside the bunkers, but the running theory is that they will be high-tier loot areas. This would be functionally similar to theApex Legendsvaults, and lines up with past leaks about theWarzonebunkers. However, just like the method of opening the bunkers may be different than expected, it’s also possible that the purpose of the bunkers will also be different than what fans are anticipating.
TheWarzonebunkers remain the biggest mystery in the game, and hopefully fans have some answers soon. It’s quite likely that they will have to wait a little bit later inWarzoneSeason 3for anything substantial to happen with the bunkers, however.
If the latestWarzoneupdate is any indication, Infinity Ward has big plans when it comes to the battle royale. Besides adding some new files about the bunkers, the latestCall of Duty: Warzoneupdate also adds anew Most Wanted contract typeand the Armor Satchel item. Moving forward, it will be exciting to see how the game continues to evolve as Season 3 continues and we head to Season 4.
