Call of Duty: Warzonehas received its first holiday-themed event since the Pacific map Caldera has made its debut, with Festive Fervor bringing Christmas-themed bundles to the shop alongside some wintery in-game content. Unfortunately, someCall of Duty: Warzoneplayers are not able to enjoy the event at all since the update has made the game unstable.
While theCall of Duty: Vanguardversion of the event seems to be working fine enough, letting players hunt down Elf Team Six for some extra killstreaks. InCall of Duty: Warzone, players aresupposed to be fearing Krampus. While the character hunts down campers in Team Deathmatch or players with low objective scores in modes like Domination, those that get coal fromCall of Duty: Warzone’s presents will attract Krampus to their location. Though he can be killed, he can also end a player’s map early with a finishing move if they are caught.

While the Krampus mechanic should be a fun and terrifying feature to make the holidays special, it is currently breaking the game. For someCall of Duty: Warzoneplayers, their entire application is crashing as soon as Krampus appears in their match and begins hunting someone. A Twitter user named @CarlosBiteMe pointed out that this has happened to their group in three different matches, showing that the crash issue is extensive. Unfortunately, it seems like many other players are being impacted by the Festive Fervor crashes, too.
Another Twitter user, @FeLo, Tweeted that a majority of theCalderamatches players try to load into will result in disconnects. This is not only unfortunate since the new map just launched, but also because players are losing time to complete the Festive Fervor challenges. As is always the case withCall of Duty’s events, Festive Fervor will end in a few weeks’ time - meaning that players only have a little bit of time to complete the special objectives and earn the holiday-themed blueprint.
Sadly, while Twitter is filled with complaints about the crashing, so too is Reddit. A post from Seth-555 sees the player saying that they are being kicked out at the same time every game, with the common belief being that Krampus’ first appearance in the map is the cause of the crashes. Hopefully,Raven Softwarecan fix the issue sooner rather than later, as it is completely breaking the game and ruining the seasonal event.
WhileCall of Duty: Warzone’s big nose bugis frustrating and the invisible skin issue is borderline game-breaking, the crashes caused by the Festive Fervor update seem to be as bad as it gets. For now, though, all players can do is make sure that Raven knows there is an issue.
Call of Duty: Warzoneis available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
