Call of Duty: Modern Warfaredeveloper Infinity Ward has been regularly issuing playlist updates and information on them sinceCall of Duty: Modern Warfare’s release, such as an update integrating theShoot House 24/7 playlist. As part of the latest update, players will be able to participate in Ground War on the map Aniyah Palace.
It had been indicated about two weeks ago thatInfinity Ward had plans to bring Aniyah Palace to Ground Warwhen select YouTubers had been invited to preview content from the Season 1 update toModern Warfare. Now, allModern Warfareplayers have access to Aniyah Palace as part of the Ground War multiplayer mode.

Previously, the map Aniyah Palace was limited to battles of 20 vs 20. However, Aniyah Palace’sGround Warcapability will enableModern Warfaremultiplayer frequenters to duke it out on the map in a 32 vs 32 context. Infinity Ward announced as such in a tweet, which can be seen below.
Upon release, the only multiplayer maps available for Ground War play inCall of Duty: Modern Warfarewere Karst River Quarry and Tavorsk Bridge. Now that the list of compatible maps is expanding, there will be more diversity in where players end up having large-scale shootouts in the popular first-person shooter.
Further, there are still a ton ofmaps inCall of Duty’sbacklog that should come as DLCat some point. Some fan favorites that have yet to come in future updates includeCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 2’s Derail,Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare’s Ambush, the airport-based Terminal, the cargo-littered Shipment, and the weathered Bloc map from the firstModern Warfare. While not all of these would be ideal for Ground War, there are still plenty of possibilities withinCall of Duty’s history of memorable maps, so some fan favorites are bound to show up.
The same update that added Aniyah Palace as a Ground War map also introduced other new content, including the fan-disliked Gunfight OSP, which is similar to Gunfight but requires players to loot equipment from the map rather than start out with their preferred equipment. Infinity Ward has generally been good about atoning for the more disliked components of their updates, so it is likely there will be a patch soon. In the meantime, players can only wonder what future content, including maps, will be coming toCall of Duty: Modern Warfare.
