Season 6 forCall of Duty: Modern Warfareis set to kick off later today, bringing a wealth of changes and new content to the game. This season, Farah and Nikolai join the multiplayer side of the game alongsideweapons like SP-R 208 and AS VAL. As expected, new maps are being added to the game as well as a subway system to allow Warzone players faster transportation around Verdansk. Finally, Activision has also teased a special Halloween inspired event called the Haunting of Verdansk coming October 20. In addition to content, the seasonal update also has plenty of fixes and changes players should be aware of.

Arguably the biggest change from this upcoming season forCall of Duty: Modern Warfareupdate is that some consistently strong weapons and gear have been nerfed. The much maligned C4 is getting a slight delay added when players try to perform a quick detonation. In addition, initial throw velocity has been reduced by 30%. There’s a slight beeping audio clue before it detonates, which means enemies have a small window to try and escape the boom.

The other big change comes to the Origin-12 shotgun, a weapon that is quite popular with the community for how consistent it is in a close quarters battle. While there wasn’t a lot of adjustments made to weapons, the Origin-12 shotgun had its damage reduced from a “very close” range. Unfortunately, it’s a little ambiguous as to what this means as Infinity Ward did not provide any additional data points to try and explain. Otherslug shotguns like the R9-0were also slightly buffed, which should make them more viable and appealing in the wake of the Origin nerf.

In addition to those major changes, Infinity Ward has fixed a number of issues including a bug that gave players unlimited Stopping Power rounds as well as a longer than expected respawn timer for defending players during a Headquarters match. Warzone also received a bunch of bug fixes with a few related to the train like supply boxes vanishing randomly or it appearing as a white placeholder icon on the map.

Call of Dutyplayers will finally be able to experience all of the upcoming changes latter todaywhen the update arrives at 11pm PDT. In addition, a new playlist update introduces Face Off on the new Station map as well as the Killstreak Confirmed mode which twists the familiar Kill Confirmed rules by letting players earn killstreaks by collecting dog tags. To add to the chaos, streaks don’t reset on death and players can earn the same killstreak multiple times in one life.
