One of the more difficult achievements players can complete during the campaign ofCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 3requires them to use expert timing to destroy a reinforcement helicopter with a mortar strike while it is in the air. Due to the delay in the action effect of the mortars and the fact that the helicopters will quickly dodge a called strike, players will have to use creativity and superb timing to claim this trophy. Players can find success by attempting this challenge on the mission Reactor.
How to Unlock the That’s One Way To Do It Achievement/Trophy
Before dropping into Reactor, players can make this challenge much easier byequipping the RGL-80 launcher andExplosive Crossbowto their loadout. Deploy into Reactor, pull the parachute as soon as possible, andglide to the roof of the reactor building. Players will want todestroy all three helicopters for the mission objective to force the enemies to call in the attack helicopter. From the roof of the reactor, use the RGL-80 to take down the two Konni helicopters at the East end of the map.
Be cautious of the few soldiers patrolling the upper roof areas. Once these two helicopters are destroyed, begin heading towardsthe concrete building in C-4, where players can findone of the Mortar Strike armamentson the roof. From the roof of the reactor, players can parachute to the ascension line that goes up to the crane, and then parachute down to the concrete building as a quick traversal route.

Once players are by the mortar strike, destroy the third Konni Helicopter to complete the objective. The attack helicopter can deploy after the second Konni helicopter is destroyed, however, players will want to destroy the third before turning their attention to the attack chopper.
That way, they get a checkpoint save on the roof by the mortar strikeand can load the checkpoint if they are unsuccessful in acquiring the achievement on the first attempt. Due to the distribution of damage on the mortars, playersmay need multiple attemptsto secure the That’s One Way To Do It Achievement or Trophy.
After hitting the checkpoint, take out the crossbow and hit the bird three times. This will significantly weaken the bird and put it in a position to be destroyed by a single mortar hit. Now, take the mortar armament and find a narrow channel of cover that can be used to force the helicopter into a specific position by giving it a small viewing angle on Captain Price and the player’s position. Have the mortar ready, and hide behind the cover until the helo comes into view.
The moment the helo stops, launch the mortar and remain perfectly still - even if the attack helicopter begins raining fire on the position. Having a full vest of plates can be a great idea if attempting this challenge on a higher difficulty. Remaining still and eating any damage from the bird will encourage it to hold its position and allow for the mortar strike to come into the area and connect. If players are lucky, the mortar will connect on the first attempt and take down the aerial menace, awarding That’s One Way To Do It.
If the first mortar does not connect, playerscan grab the second strikeavailable just South of the first and try again - otherwise, reload the checkpoint.
