In a post on r/ModernWarfareII, a reddit user shared a screenshot showing that if players have 4 attachments meant to max ADS speed attached to a weapon it results in a net change of 0 milliseconds in speed. ADS speed, or “aim down sights” speed, refers to how fast a player can aim when looking down the barrel of aweapon inCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. The fact that equipping attachments ostensibly meant to increase ADS speed would actually slow it down came as a shock to many gamers responding to the post, though others cited it as just another example of serious bugs in multiplayer.
Although the screenshot in the thread indicated that players actually lost ADS speed by adding 4 maxed-out attachments, some responses to the thread claimed that testing has proven that players actually do gain the speed bonus even though the stats say otherwise. Other responses to the thread expressed frustration with the generally buggy state of the game at launch, but were optimistic that future patches would address major issues. Bugs aren’t the only thing that has players of Activision’s hit shooter frustrated lately, as some gamers have also expressed annoyance at usersscalpingCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 2multiplayer skins.
Playing any competitive multiplayer game always brings the risk of encountering bugs that can range from annoying to game-breaking, and that holds doubly true when playing shortly after launch. Multiplayer bugs like the weapon attachment issue will almost certainly be resolved with future patches, but the presence of this bug and others like it in such a highly-anticipated game is likely to leave a sour taste in someCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 2players' mouths.
