Call of Duty 2021is confirmed to be releasing at some point later this year, but beyond that, official details have not been revealed by Activision. But while Activision has kept tight-lipped about the 2021Call of Dutygame, leakers have been revealing information that they know about the project. One prominentCall of Dutyfranchise leaker has revealed everything that they’ve heard about the game so far, and it will be interesting to see if their claims are accurate.

According toCall of Dutyleaker Tom Henderson,Call of Duty 2021is being developed by Sledgehammer Games. Sledgehammer Games is the studio that led development onCall of Duty: Advanced WarfareandCall of Duty: WW2. Sledgehammer was originally supposed to be developingCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold Warwith Raven Software, but it was ultimately pulled from the project and Treyarch took lead development duties.

As for what Sledgehammer’sCall of Duty 2021game will be, it is said to be “gritty” and “controversial” likeModern Warfare. As some may recall,Call of Duty: Modern Warfarecaused major controversyfor some of the content depicted in the game, including torture and letting players kill civilians. How exactlyCall of Duty 2021will be controversial hasn’t been specified, however.

Henderson also touched on what fans can expect fromCall of Duty 2021’s gameplay. Evidently,Call of Duty 2021will be another “boots on the ground"Call of Dutygame, which makes sense if rumors about it having a historical setting are accurate. Henderson didn’t touch on the game’s setting, unfortunately, and there are conflicting reports about where the game will take place. Conflicting reports suggest thatCall of Duty 2021will take place in World War 2or the Korean War.

Henderson also said that the game will have “Guerrilla-like Warfare,” and previously teased thatCall of Duty 2021would be calledGuerrilla Warfare. And finally,Call of Duty 2021will haveWarzoneintegration, which isn’t a surprising claim since Activision has outright said that it plans on supportingCall of Duty: Warzonefor the long-term.

While none of these claims seem outlandish, fans should still take this information with a grain of salt and wait for official news. Since theCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold Warrevealdidn’t take place until late last summer, it’s hard to say whenCall of Duty 2021will be unveiled to the public, but fans should hang tight for more information.
