Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumaniais not doing well in the reviews. Many fans and critics seem to think that the MCU has been in a spiral lately, with opinions being more split than usual. It’s not great for this movie seeing as how this is supposed to set up Phase 5 of the MCU.

Can the MCU recover afterAnt-Man and the Wasp: Quantumaniaand is this movie truly not that good? It has its problems, but there are still many enjoyable moments thanks to some memorable quotes from its cast of characters.
Warning: Spoilers Ahead
8“Am I The Hulk’s Baby?”
The beginning of the movie has Scott narrating himself through a series of montages. It’s later revealed that he was narrating from a book he wrote during a promotional signing. After picking Cassie up from jail, they listen to the radio on the way home.
Cassie accidentally switches on Scott’s audiobook based on histime as Ant-Maninstead at some point. There are some great lines during this excerpt from the book on tape, but the funniest part was Scott going down the Hulk rabbit hole.

7“Thank You Spider-Man!”
This line was all over the trailer which was said by Ruben the coffee shop barista. Hardcore fans ofI Think You Should Leaveon Netflix probably got a kick out of seeing the actor, Ruben Rabasa, inAnt-Man and the Wasp: Quantumaniabecause of his role in the show.
The sketch he was featured in has been memed up and down the block from “Stinky” to “I’m the best at this.” Hearing him confuse Scott with Spider-Man instead of Ant-Man fits with how weird he was inI Think You Should Leave.

6“Drink The Ooze!”
Once the group goes into the Quantum Realm, they get separated into two groups. Janet, Hank, and Hope are stuck together while Scott and Cassie are on their own. They are eventually captured by natives who start chanting while they are in a gathering.

Cassie pleads withher dad to drink the ooze they keep swirling around but doesn’t explain why. Apparently, drinking the secretions of one resident, Veb, allows one to understand a universal language. It’s never explained how it works, but it doesn’t really matter to make the joke work.
5“His Name Is Scott Lang And He Has Seven Holes.”
After drinking the ooze, Veb asks Scott a series of questions including how many holes he has. Quaz is another one of the natives of the Quantum Realm who inserts himself into this joke discussion with this line.
He has the unique ability of telepathy, which is how he figured out who Scott was. Quaz looks like a normal human but his head does glow when he reads minds. He couldbe a mutant, which could tie the MCU more into theX-Menuniverse or it could be wholly unrelated.

4“I Can Give That To You, Time.”
In the trailers leading up toAnt-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, it’sshown that Kangmakes a plea about time to Scott. In actuality, Kang speaks to Janet about time first. He offers to return those years she lost with Hope.
That’s why Janet initially wanted to help Kang as they made a deal and he didn’t seem like a bad guy at the time. Little did she know that Kang was a conquerer who had destroyed billions of lives already across multiple universes.

3“I Have Holes!”
With as fascinated with jokes as Veb was, viewers could have probably predicted he was going to get holes as well at some point. In the battle against Kang’s army of robots, Veb rushes in first but gets smoked like cheese from gunfire. Thankfully, the lasers didn’t affect him much.

Veb became excited to get his own holes and proceeded to suck up villains as ifhe was Kirby. He is pink, in the rough shape of a ball, and he sucks enemies in through his mouth. How could this not be a reference to Nintendo’s family-friendly franchise?
2“At Least In The End, I Was An Avenger.”
Darren Cross being M.O.D.O.K.was a huge twist in the movie. M.O.D.O.K. was shown in the trailers, but he could have easily been a new character. Who would have thought the MCU would have brought the villain from the firstAnt-Manfilm back?
Overall, as menacing as he was supposed to be, Darren/M.O.D.O.K. had some of the funniest lines inAnt-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. This line about accepting his place in The Avengers created an awkward, albeit hilarious, scene between Scott and his family.

1“I Don’t Have To Win, We Just Both Have To Lose.”
This was another line spoiled in the trailers for the film. It’s a bit cliche and silly, but that’s how these superhero films are supposed to be. Characters like Ant-Man are supposed to be larger than life and that is a pun intended. So, while this line Scott says to Kang is cheesy, it also fits.
Thankfully, this decision did not kill Scott off like Tony’s sacrifice inThe Avengers: Endgame. Fans would have assuredly left the theater in tears if any one of the cast died in this movie, especially the titular Ant-Man.
