AsAssassin’s Creed Valhalla’s introduction to England, The Swan-Road Home features gameplay mechanics that will become relevant as players progress. While a lot of this quest is dialogue, there are moments for which players should be on their guard while playingAssassin’s Creed Valhalla.

This mission begins asEivor’s historically accurate longshiptransitions from the open sea to the rivers of England. After quite a bit of time traveling along the river and listening to dialogue, players will be dropped off at an outpost that is blocking the river with a chain. There are less than a dozen enemies in this camp, but they have their own schedules and will move about the camp.
The overall goal is to enter the camp, get within the building, and destroy the supports of the chain. The optimal path for this is to enter by the tree inside the camp and activate Odin’s sight. With eyes on the enemies here, players can move to the building and take out the soldier examining shields inside. From here climb up the ladder and deal with the enemy archer on top of the roof before moving on.
The key to disabling the chain is in the area with the mechanism on the riverside of the structure and can be accessed by just jumping down to this area and destroying the golden wheels on either side of this mechanism. Using Odin’s Sight will light these up red for those struggling to locate them. With those destroyed, players can jump back up and on to the waiting longship to continue the mission.
How to Clear the Camp in Unwelcome?
Having reachedHalfdan’s Settlement in England, Eivor and Sigurd’s clan is greeted by hostile Saxon enemies. While the instructions are straightforward here (eliminate all enemies in the area) it is a great opportunity to learn about the different strategies of these Saxons that inhabit this area. These enemies can have slings, polearms, clubs, and swords and will throw out unblockable attacks as well as throw sand in the player’s face.
With the fight complete, players are left with the vague goal of exploring the area. What this actually means is that players need to head straight for the abandoned Longhouse and greet the characters inside. This will bring about a long cutscene that introduces the main body of the game and complete the quest, setting up thenew settlement feature inAssassin’s Creed Valhalla.
