Community-derived Fakemon creatures have been around for almost as long asPokemonitself, but the notion of fan-made pocket monsters truly proliferated as new games and generations began to come out at a faster pace. There have even been full fan-made games featuring completely unofficial and custom-designed “Pokemon” in lieu of Gamefreak’s own designs.Talented artist BromoJumbo is now taking the concept of fan-madePokemonto an entirely new level, however. He is now working on a full-featured set of starter Fakemon for each of the 50 US States. This huge project is now in its nascent stages, but BromoJumbo is intent on seeing it through.RELATED:Pokemon Unite is Adding DelphoxThe artist has come up with four states' worth of Fakemon up until now: Oklahoma, Florida, Texas, and Washington, with plenty more to come in the near future. It’s worth pointing out, of course, that BromoJumbo has got a long history of designing extremely impressive Fakemon, to the point where they wouldn’t look out of place in an officialPokemongame. One of his previous designs was aLechonk evolution concept forPokemon ScarletandViolet, in fact.

BromoJumbo’s penchant for designing impressively official-looking Fakemon isn’t going unnoticed, either. Since the full list ofPokemon revealed forPokemon ScarletandVioletis rather short at this time, many fans are now looking into the artist’s custom designs, which are even more impressive when taking into account that BromoJumbo is also going through full evolution lines, which means he is working on nine Fakemon for each US state.

This means that, by the time BromoJumbo is done, he will have come up with a whopping 450 Fakemon designs, which is roughly three or even four generations' worth of pocket monsters. While other fan artists might be interested inredesigningScarletandVioletwith Gen 1 artworkin mind, BromoJumbo is going all-in on his extremely comprehensive fan concept idea instead, which is bound to earn him even more recognition in the community.

WithPokemonclones such asCoromonor evenTemTembeing a reasonably popular prospect as of late, it’s not impossible to imagine BromoJumbo’s painstaking custom Pokemon in a fan-made game all of their own. Fans of the artist’s work are invited to keep track of his latest designs using the featured Twitter thread, where he has promised to keep posting new starter Fakemon until he’s covered all the US states.
