Hello Kitty probably isn’t the first thing that comes to mind when thinking aboutArmored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon, but that didn’t stop one fan from building a mech inspired by Sanrio’s iconic mascot. Thefirst new entry in FromSoftware’s classic mecha action series in 10 yearsboasts no shortage of customization options, and fans have taken full advantage of those options to assemble a wide variety of battle machines that run the gamut from imposing to wacky.
Armored Core 6, like its predecessors before it, places vital importance on customizing a mech to one’s liking, encouraging players to mix and match different bodies, limbs, internal systems and weapons to create anything from a super-agile flyer to a lumbering tank and everything in between. That by itself has led to some interesting builds by players, but the ability to paint their mechs and add custom decals has really opened the door for them to not just flex their creativity but reference their favorite media as well.

Such is the case with Reddit user seph00017 and their Hello Kitty-inspired mech. ThiscustomArmored Core 6buildcan be seen in a screenshot docked ahead of its next mission, its pink and white body emblazoned with Hello Kitty’s face all over, including, in a nice touch, on the mech’s face. It’s a delightful contrast to the more grim and muted tone ofArmored Core 6’s world, and it’s safe to say that seph00017’s machine would be quite an odd sight to see tearing through enemy mechs on the battlefield.
An argument could be made that seph00017’s Hello Kitty build is far from the craziest way players have referenced pop culture via the game’s mech-building features. In the week since launch, fans have seen popular characters like Kirby, Cloud Strife, and Homer Simpsonrecreated as mechs inArmored Core 6. This is on top of the many builds modeled after classic mecha franchises likeGundam,Voltron, andPower Rangers.
Any game that gives players a means to express their creativity will inevitably see someone get weird with it to hilarious effect. FromSoftware’s games are no strangers to this phenomenon, as anyone who has encountered aweird custom character inElden RingorDark Soulscan attest, and it continues withArmored Core 6.
Given the amount of interesting builds that have been made in the game’s first week, things are looking promising forArmored Core 6’s creative scene going forward. Odds are fans will be able to look forward to many more wacky creations in the vein ofone player’s killer John Deere tractor mechfor the foreseeable future.
