A recent audio clip supposedly of Bethesda’s Todd Howard speaking suggests thatThe Elder Scrolls 6will feature some rather risqué content and mechanics, but it turns out it’s just AI making him say such things. Artificial intelligence is becoming frighteningly realistic these days. Everything from deepfakes superimposing people onto videos topoliticians getting ChatGPT to write their speechesare becoming commonplace, which is a cause for concern for those who are worried that it’s already hard to tell what’s real and what’s fake.
As forThe Elder Scrolls, many have been eagerly awaiting any updates on the follow-up to 2011’s entry. Given how manyports there have been ofSkyrim, including a rudimentary version made especially for Amazon Echo, there have been so many opportunities to playTES5, and indeed many fans have been engaging in this cold slice of Tamriel for well over a decade at this point. Needless to say, gamers are wanting the next installment, but without word from Bethesda itself, all people can do is wait or create their own fantasy announcement.

Anyone who’s desperately on the lookout for any information regardingThe Elder Scrolls 6may have come across noisia’s YouTube video. Alleged to be an audio recording of Bethesda’s Todd Howard at some unknown event, it sounds like the director and his team are planning to put some rather adult content intoTES6, including graphic sex and highly detailed character anatomy. The video contains some vulgar language, and each announcement is met with applause from an unseen audience, and it really does sound like Bethesda is planning to make the next game more rude. However, according to a report from GamesRadar, as well as comments on the YouTube video itself, it’s all been done using AI. Admittedly, it sounds remarkably like Howard, but the fact that it’s not real is further evidence of how advanced artificial intelligence is becoming.
In terms of any real updates on the long-awaited game, so far there hasn’t been much word from the developer.Skyrim’s successor was announced back in 2018, and not much has been said since. Fans are no doubt beginning to grow impatient as the years go by, and evenTodd Howard wishesThe Elder Scrolls 6was out.
It’s likely that fans will have to wait a long time before the RPG finally sees the light of the day. There will be plenty ofother games that could release beforeThe Elder Scrolls 6, but given how oldSkyrimis, many feel the next chapter is long overdue. At least there’s alwaysStarfieldto look forward to.
