Despite being the first video game made byLast Bastion Studios LLC,Savage Landshas proven to be a high-quality survival game. This new title puts players in a world devastated by a war between humanity and Dragons. Undoubtedly,Savage Landshas beeninfluenced by other survival games, since it features many familiar survival mechanics like crafting and a sophisticated build system.

And just like other survival games, players will need to use the right tools and weapons if they’re going to survive the frozen shores of Tarvhas. Fortunately,Savage Landshas plenty of weapons for players to use. However, not all are equally useful, and knowing which one will give players the upper hand is the key to surviving the war-torn land of Tarvhas.

Stats

Bows have always been a staple inwilderness survival games, since they provide an easy (and safe) way of eliminating enemies or animals. And inSavage Lands, the Long Bow is an essential weapon to have if players want to craft food-related items or other useful equipment, since it offers an easy way to kill fauna from afar.

Fortunately, theLong Bowis a common drop in the frozen wasteland of Tarvhas, so players shouldn’t have too many issues getting their hands on one. But keep in mind that players will need to use arrows (Primitive Flint Arrow or Ebon Steel Arrow) if they want to use it.

8The Needle

DespiteSavage Lands’immersive weapon crafting mechanics, there are plenty of unique non-craftable weapons that will grant the player an edge over Dragons and other unworldly creatures. One of these is The Needle, a two-handed spear weapon that can defeat almost any common enemy in a single jab.

On top of that, The Needle has a high level of durability, making it useful during combat. Players can locate it in Lake Tyvekk Farm underneath a pile of hay (yes, players must find The Needle in the haystack!)

7Don’s Staff

Don’s Staffis a decent two-handed weapon that players can find by scaling the mountain they arrive at on the Second Island. However, as players can expect, reaching the staff is no easy task since it’s guarded by a Dragon (something reminiscent of theSkyrim-themed game Icarus).

Players should come prepared with steel armor since the Dragon’s fiery breath will deal significant damage to their HP. Alternatively, players can grab Don’s Staff and quickly run back down the mountain, thus avoiding the Dragon’s wrath.

6Flesh Ripper

Infused with the essence of the Sundered Isles, the Flesh Ripper is a bladed-type weapon that most beginner players should get their hands on. It may not have the best damage for the late stages of the game, but it’s a great weapon to use early on.

Players can find this sword on a shipwreck off the coast of Argo. However, players must tread carefully as they reach Flesh Ripper since it’s guarded by several Skeleton Demons (a common enemy type for survival horror games).

5Soul Storm

The Soul Storm is a decent sword that can slay most enemies in a couple of swings. Additionally, players can use the Soul Storm to mine rocks or ores, but doing so will reduce its durability by quite a lot. Reaching the Soul Storm is no easy task since it’ll mean players must farm the Dragon Kur.

Moreover, once the Soul Storm reaches 0 durability, it will need to be reforged with 5 Spirit Orbs and 1 Spirit Blade. Players would do well in not wasting the Soul Storm’s durability on mining or common monsters.

4Eriandhor’s Cleaver

Arguably the best-looking weapon inSavage Lands, Eriandhor’s Cleaver is a two-handed weapon that players can easily obtain early on. But, players should still come prepared since the only way they can get it is by defeating a Giant Skeleton Guardian.

Another interesting feature of Eriandhor’s Cleaver is that it provides a dim light source, which is perfect while traversing the frozen tundra during the nighttime. But, one downside of using the cleaver is that it makes players run slower than usual, so it’s best not to use while escaping wolves.

3Savage Stick

As players will notice, the Savage Stick is nothing to write home, about since it has a lower than usual damage output. But it can still prove to be a useful weapon to use, especially during the first few days of the game

Players can craft this stick-like weapon with wood, which makes it the perfect starter weapon since wood is the easiest resource to farm inSavage Lands. Moreover, players can repair the Savage Stick with wood. However, players should switch to a better weapon once they gain access to iron or steel.

2Wolfsbane

The Wolfsbaneis one of the few craftable unique weapons inSavage Lands.Nonetheless, it’s a great starter weapon that’ll prove useful while fighting lower-leveled bosses. to craft the Wolfsbane, players will need the following materials:

Players can use the Wolfsbane to cut through bushes, which is quite common in the later areas of the game. Despite its name, players should keep in mind that this weapon doesn’t do any bonus damage to wolves.

1Rage Bane

Players who enjoy playingbrutally difficult survival gameswill be happy to know that the Rage Bane is perhaps the most difficult weapon to acquire inSavage Lands. That’s because in order to obtain it, players must defeat the mighty Kur, a boss-type Dragon, which can ultimately mean their death.

This blunt-type weapon may not have the highest damage against enemies (65), but it does have the best stats against buildings. Moreover, the Rage Bane acts as a source of warmth while held.
