In 1929, cartoonist Georges Remi, known by the pen name Hergé, createdTintin, a reporter turned investigative journalist from Brussels. He travels the world looking for stories and uncovering criminal operations. Recently, publisher Microids and developer Pendulo Studios gave everyone a glimpse at Tintin’s latest video game,Tintin Reporter: Cigars of the Pharaoh, which takes its name from the storyline by Hergé.

Even if he is a thief, he knows when to put his own worldly desires aside for the greater good.

7Tomb Raider (2013)

Lara Croft has hadmany adventuresover her career. Some have been great, while others? Well,Tomb Raider: The Angel of Darknessis best left unmentioned. The star of theTomb Raiderfranchise is a wealthy archaeologist who always keeps her cool in tight situations, both literally and figuratively.

Like Tintin, Lara loves to hunt for artifacts. She also unravels some ancient mysteries that often get her and the people around her in trouble. Lara’s adventures also usually end up with some supernatural element, like a Japanese Goddess trapping her on a perpetually stormy island.

6Indiana Jones and The Emperor’s Tomb

George Lucas’s greatest creation, besides the originalStar WarsTrilogy, isIndiana Jones, a tribute to the movie theater serials of yesteryear. Henry Jones, Jr., isan archaeology professorwho spends his outside hours in search of ancient artifacts while having to deal with Nazis and cults in the process.

Nico is a kindred spirit to Tintin, in that she is a fellow journalist and seeker of the truth. The game’s mystery is gripping as well, as the new wrinkles that unfold will have intrepid journalists eager to find the big scoop.

3Adam’s Venture Chronicles

File this one under the “so cheesy it’s great” category.Adam’s Venture Chroniclesfollows the self-proclaimed world-renowned explorer Adam, as he and his partner Evelyn explore the site that is alleged to be the entrance to the Garden of Eden, from the Bible’s Book of Genesis

The game focuses heavily on exploration and puzzle solving, incorporating elements from Scripture. Adam is a plucky adventurer that would have plenty of stories to share with Tintin, and while the graphics are certainly dated, the gameplay does enough to make those who give it a chance eager to know what is hiding in the next cavern.

Assassin’s Creed 3

2Beyond Good And Evil

At the core of Tintin’s journeys around the globe are his search for the truth in his next big story. The search for truth is the core theme of Ubisoft’sBeyond Good and Evil, which hits its20th anniversary this year. The game follows photojournalist Jade and her warthog Uncle, Pey’j in an adventure in the middle of an intergalactic war between the alien Dom’z, and the planet Hillys.

Jade will unravel a conspiracy involving Hillys’s so-called protectors, the Alpha Sections, and join an underground news journal. She will require the kind of sleuthing that would make Tintin proud, infiltrating barracks and uncovering evidence. She will also get to takesome great animal photosalong the way.

1The Adventures Of Tintin: The Game

A time existed when licensed video games used to be a dime a dozen. Most of them were mediocre at best, butThe Adventures of Tintin: The Game, based on the film of the same name, isa diamond in the rough.

This title follows Tintin through a loose adaptation of the events of the movie, in a series of both 2D and 3D segments. Tintin will have to use his wits to navigate around enemies and also engage in some fisticuffs when necessary. Occasionally, the game will switch over control to his dog, Snowy, who can get into smaller, hard-to-reach places.
